Hello, my name is Joan Baker Rydl or my pen name is JB RYDL. I am retired after working for over 38 years at Hallmark Cards, Inc. I am married, and have 3 sons and 7 grandchildren.

I have always wanted to be an “Artist” ever since I was a small child. I have since taken several classes from Studio Kande, Penn Valley Jr, College and workshops from several other professional artists.

I look for the beauty in Nature and visualize it in a painting. I can see the shapes, the lights and darks and try to plan how I can make it “attractive” to the eye. I am an outdoors person and like to do mostly landscapes, sceneries and points of interest. I take lots of photos and have lots of material to work from. I love to “create” and I can find time flies as I enjoy painting.

I am happy to share my love of art with all of you and hope that you find my work enjoyable.

I am a Juried member of the following art associations, Summit Art, Greater Kansas City Art Association, Best of Missouri Hands.

Some of my art work is on display at Saint Luke's East Hospital Art Gallery.
